CIIR (chlorinated butyl rubber) addresses this molecularly: chlorination introduces chlorine atoms onto the butyl backbone, creating a denser, more tortuous diffusion path, reducing permeation by 30–50% versus standard IIR. With EPDM's thermal stability, CIIR+EPDM maintains low permeation across -40°C to +150°C.

The 201 series is a low-pressure, high-flow solution prioritizing maximum I.D. for minimum pressure drop - ideal for gravity-feed return lines, overflow connections, and reservoir-to-manifold piping. Available from 1/8" to 4" I.D., the widest range in our liquid cooling family, enabling one hose type for both instrument branches and main headers.

 

Product Application

District cooling plants deploy the 201 series as secondary/tertiary loop piping, where 2"–4" diameters carry chilled glycol between exchangers, tanks, and manifolds at low pressure but high flow.

Data center secondary loops depend on it: between CDU and in-row units, gravity-driven return demands full-bore hoses with minimal pressure drop, and CIIR prevents coolant drift over 10+ year design life.

Industrial process headers use the 201 series to connect chiller outlets to distribution headers up to 4" I.D.

Cold storage facilities use large-diameter CIIR hoses to link evaporator banks to suction drums and receivers.

Q1: What is the maximum continuous service temperature for the 201 series?

A1: CIIR+EPDM maintains full performance up to 80°C continuous. Short-term peaks of 125°C (up to 1 hour) are acceptable.

Q2: Can the 201 series be used for potable water cooling?

A2: CIIR+EPDM meets NSF/ANSI 61 for drinking water contact. For potable water use, we recommend our EPDM series with WRAS approval. The 201 series is optimized for glycol-based coolants.
