The braided reinforcement layer provides mechanical strength while the non-conductive polyester or aramid fibers maintain the hose's excellent electrical insulation properties (dielectric strength > 20 kV/mm, volume resistivity > 10¹3 Ω·cm). For applications requiring EMI protection, copper-plated steel wire braid can be specified while still maintaining adequate insulation for most electronic applications.
The outer stainless steel or polyester braid provides abrasion protection in cable routing applications and additional burst pressure safety margin. The four-layer construction eliminates the risk of silicone hose failure in thermal cycling environments where pure silicone tubes would rapidly degrade.
