Detailed Description
HNBR is a highly saturated copolymer elastomer manufactured via selective catalytic hydrogenation of conventional acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR)
The base structure consists of acrylonitrile repeating units (polar nitrile groups –CN) and hydrogenated butadiene alkylene segments. Most vulnerable carbon-carbon double bonds in the butadiene backbone are saturated during hydrogenation, leaving only minimal residual unsaturation, while retaining the polar nitrile functional groups intact.
The key structural variables are acrylonitrile (ACN) content and hydrogenation degree: higher ACN content improves hydrocarbon fuel/oil resistance; higher saturation level enhances thermal stability, ozone resistance and anti-ageing performance.
After peroxide vulcanization, the polymer forms a stable carbon-carbon (C-C) crosslinked network, rather than sulfur crosslinks, greatly improving thermal stability and compression set performance.
Product Application
- Automotive Industry: Fuel system hoses (ethanol/gasoline, methanol, biodiesel fuel lines), engine cooling & oil circulation hoses, turbocharger hoses, transmission fluid hoses, brake fluid hoses, meeting SAE J30R and CARB low permeation requirements.
- Oil & Gas & Petrochemical Industry: Downhole oilfield hoses, sour gas transport hoses, chemical transfer hoses, high-pressure hydraulic hoses for drilling and production equipment, resistant to hydrogen sulfide, brine and hot crude oil.
- General Industrial & Machinery: High-pressure hydraulic hoses, coolant & lubricant delivery hoses, industrial fluid transfer hoses, heavy machinery dynamic fluid lines, construction equipment hydraulic systems.
- Agriculture & Transportation: Biodiesel and agricultural chemical delivery hoses, heavy truck fuel and cooling system hoses, railway vehicle hydraulic and fuel piping systems.
- Special Engineering: Mobile equipment, marine engine fuel & lube hoses, and other extreme working conditions requiring long-term fuel resistance and high-temperature durability.
